The average home price in Virginia for 2005 was $272,761, up 14.0% from $239,202 in the previous year.

The median price on homes for sale in Virginia , with half of the homes selling for more and half for less, was $180,260, up 6.2% from $169,725 in the previous 12 months. The median is considered a better barometer, since averages can be skewed.
