Henrico Real Estate

Henrico County real estate blankets the city of Richmond, and is bound by the James River and Richmond to the south, and by Goochland (Area 24) and Hanover (Areas 36 and 44) Counties to the west and north. Henrico real estate is divided into 5 zones, as outlined in the map above. The most expensive Henrico county home for sale (per square foot) in 2009 was found in Area 34 (often referred to as "the far West End".  Area 34 boasts newer construction, with the largest homes sold in the county in 2009 averaging 2392 sq. ft. Area 22, which adjoins Richmond City's "fashionable West End" also has a number of high-end homes, and listings in Area 22 sold for an average of $136 per square foot.  Over 60% of Henrico county home sales took place in Areas 22 and 34 last year. The real estate prices in Henrico County depreciated in almost all real estate zones during the year, meaning that Henrico County homes are now a really good buy.

To the north and east of Richmond lie Henrico real estate zones 32, 42, and 40. Area 42 is particularly affordable, with a Henrico home for sale at an average sq. ft. price of $93 in 2009.
